1. Overview

Jane Player is built to work on your device. It requires no account, and we do not sell personal data.

2. What we don’t collect

We don’t collect your music, videos, playlists, favorites, name, contacts or precise location. Your files never leave your device.

3. Website data

When you visit janeplayer.com, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and request time to deliver the website and protect it from abuse — for example, to limit repeated downloads. We only keep aggregated, anonymous download counts; IP addresses are not stored.

4. The app

The app keeps playlists, favorites and settings only on your device. To count active users, it sends at most one anonymous signal per day with a random ID created at installation, the app version and the approximate country. This signal contains no personal data and IP addresses are not stored. The app also checks janeplayer.com for new versions.

5. Your name, feedback and error reports

The name you enter when opening the app is stored only on your device and is used so the app can greet you by name. When you send feedback or report a bug from the app, we receive the message, that name (if provided), the app version, the Android version and the device model. If the app crashes or detects an error, it automatically sends a technical report (the type of error and where it happened in the code) with the app version, Android version and device model — without your name or any personal data. We use this information only to fix problems and improve the app.

6. Song lyrics

When you open a song’s lyrics, the app sends that song’s title, artist and duration to the free LRCLIB service (lrclib.net) to find the lyrics. No personal data is sent, and the lyrics are saved on your device.

7. App permissions

The app asks for access to your music and videos (to list and play them), notifications (for the player controls) and the internet (for lyrics and the usage signal). Files are only deleted when you confirm.

8. Cookies and local storage

On the website we only use essential storage: a cookie with your chosen language and local storage to remember notices you have already closed. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Third parties

Donations are processed by PayPal under its own privacy policy — we never receive your payment details. The website is hosted by Cloudflare and lyrics come from LRCLIB.

10. Children

Jane Player is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

11. Your rights

Under the LGPD (Brazil) and the GDPR (European Union), you can request access to, correction of or deletion of any personal data we may hold. Just contact us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
